Gosh… My body is trembling, it is ice and ice cold, feeling like needles piercing my legs. It hurts so incredibly that I couldn’t feel my toes anymore.. In the distance I heard a voice telling me that I had to go on! Keep going... Just keep going! I couldn’t withstand the pain anymore, I turned back, as the water withdrew itself around my legs, I could feel the life come rushing back into my body again. Back on the beach, I felt the sand, the broken seashells between my toes and was watching my friends going along and further back into the water neck deep and even going under.
And why didn’t I go through with it? I have given birth, if I can do that, then I can withstand the freezing cold of the Black Sea closing in on me. There I said it, I thought, fuck it, if they can do it, I can do it! I took a sprint and run back into the water above knee hight, and I plunged myself completely submerging myself into the ice-cold water. My breath taken away from me, I had to trust the process, just stay underwater until you catch you breathe, and your body has embraced the cold.

That was the start of my last day spend in Constanta, Romania! And it was amazing! I felt energized and excited to start the day, with that same bunch of people that I can call my friends. How amazing is it to be able to have an amazing job in an industry you love so much with people you care about that you can laugh your ass of with and have serious conversations with at the same time. I couldn’t wish myself luckier.
Judging Rosé with Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Constanta, Romania this year. It was an experience that will be another cherished memory for the rest of my life. Besides judging what have I been doing in Romania, what have I seen and tasted. Well let me explain some facts about Romania as a wine country.
You might be wondering but those pictures showing different moments on the same day. At 7ish in the morning it was foggy, cold and clouded, luckily the sun came out later that afternoon, when I had a walk down the sunny beach behind our hotel.
